Composting 101: A Beginner's Guide

Composting is nature's way of recycling, and it's one of the best things you can do for your garden and the environment.

What Can You Compost?

Greens (nitrogen): Fruit scraps, vegetable peels, coffee grounds, fresh grass clippings

Browns (carbon): Dry leaves, cardboard, newspaper, straw

The Perfect Ratio

Aim for roughly 3 parts browns to 1 part greens. Keep your pile moist like a wrung-out sponge and turn it every 1-2 weeks.
